1000 Words Complete!
I just spent the last 4 days creating animated videos for the top 1000 words in the SAT.
It took about thirty hours, give or take. Now comes the hard part, I need to do voice overs/edit those 1000 videos, upload them to Blip.tv, and set up an HTML5 website that can be accessed by a lot more people than it would if it were just an iPhone app.
The plan for monetization is to play the videos with a post-roll 15 second commercial at the end. If the user wants an ad-free experience, they can sign up for $1 a month or $10 for a one year package.
These vocabulary videos are just the start, I plan to make PSAT's available for $20 each. This includes a real teacher grading your essay and one on one evaluation at the end of your test, with suggestions on what to focus on.
I plan to have 10 PSAT's , Math Practice and Reading Comprehension practice available for the premium package, which I plan on selling for $100.
The videos I made aren't the greatest, they are the MVP of what I think will work. Hopefully after the site is put up I can get some funding from AngelList and start building a team. Or, the other way around.
Either way, I need to get back to editing 1,000 videos. FML.
